If so BRC are recruiting for a Domestic Violence Support Worker to join an incredible team in Bridgend.    We’re looking for a Domestic Violence Support Worker who shares this charities passion for empowering women to rebuild their lives and live free from fear.  As a Domestic Violence Support Worker, you’ll provide practical and emotional support to women who have experienced domestic abuse. You'll be part of a passionate and supportive team, working directly with individuals to help them achieve safety, independence, and long-term wellbeing.  This charity is dedicated to providing support for families and individuals affected by domestic violence, enabling them to live a life free from fear and abuse. As Support Worker your role would involve working closely with these individuals, aiding them to maintain their tenancy.    Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering one-to-one support, safety planning, and advocacy
  • Supporting women to access housing, legal, financial, and health services
  • Working in partnership with local agencies and community services
  • Promoting empowerment, resilience, and independence in a trauma-informed way
  To be successful in this position, you will need to be compassionate, non-judgmental, and committed to supporting those experiencing domestic abuse. You understand the complexities of abuse and are skilled at providing sensitive, empowering support.  We’re looking for someone with:
  • Experience supporting vulnerable women or those affected by domestic violence.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches
  • The ability to work flexibly and independently, as well as within a team
