Assistant Accountant - Permanent Opportunity
  • Hourly Rate: c £19 - £20 per hour (£35,000 - £40,000 permanent)

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our manufacturing client based in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. This role requires daily onsite presence, Monday to Friday, for 36.5 hours per week. Immediate start available.

  • Preparation of Metals Purchases Analysis and Purchase ledger postings.
  • Monthly revaluation compilation.
  • Ledger reconciliations.
  • Assistance with the production and development of Financial/Management Reporting.
  • Assistance with the Budget process.
  • Reporting of European Aluminium Association statistics and government national statistics.
  • Assistance with specific Project work and system administration/queries.
  • Assistance with annual and internal audits.
  • Prepayments check and providing cover for Sales Analysis.
  • Completing Inward Processing Returns (IPR).
  • Reporting by exception on all matters, including potential fraud, which should be brought immediately to the attention of management.
  • Ensuring all matters of variance are brought immediately to the attention of management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, or relevant degree level.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • A good understanding of financial systems, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, costing, and general ledger.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and lateral thinking.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work and deliver results under pressure.
  • Initiative to develop systems, methods, procedures, and solve problems within the finance department and the company.
