Business Development ManagerOur client is a highly regarded supplier of precision sheet metal components to the premier automotive sector. Their customers include McLaren, Aston Martin, Lotus, Jaguar Land Rover, and Bentley. In recognition of their commitment to quality, supply chain excellence, and customer service, our client has won many industry awards.While their strong position in this niche sector, they are now focused on expanding into new markets. We aim to deliver the same outstanding engineering and supply chain services to customers beyond the automotive industry into the defence & aerospace industry.The RoleWe are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead sales expansion into new markets, targeting medium-volume sheet metal pressings, brackets, and welded assemblies.The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Driving sales growth of £3m+ over 3 years outside the automotive sector.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and onboarding new customers in strategic sectors.
  • Influencing and shaping a robust growth strategy using strong market knowledge.
  • Building long-term partnerships with key decision-makers in targeted industries.
  • Recommending process capability improvements that enhance our offering and support sales growth.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in the defence and aerospace sectors will be of particular interest.
  • A strong track record of successful new business development
  • Solid engineering and technical knowledge of sheet metal design, pressings, and fabrication processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A results-driven mindset with the ability to deliver against ambitious growth targets.
