Are you passionate about sustainability and delivering high-quality public services? We’re looking for a Waste Management Officer to help shape the future of our local authority client’s waste services for over 45,000 households.

They are preparing to launch a new waste collection contract and implement nationally required service enhancements, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation at a pivotal moment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitor and report on the performance of waste services, ensuring high standards are met.
  • Collaborate with contracted service providers to deliver efficient and effective waste management.
  • Lead customer engagement and communication activities to promote our services.
  • Support residents with enquiries and help improve their experience with our waste services.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Must have relevant experience in either a local authority (public sector) or the commercial waste industry (private sector), specifically in delivering or managing waste and recycling services
  • Experience in delivering education and engagement campaigns that drive positive change.
  • A collaborative mindset for working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong data management and analysis skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in waste management.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to work hybrid and flexibly in line with business needs.
