Interim Finance Director - M&A Sell Side

West Midlands (2 days on site, 3 remote)

£700 per day outside IR35

We are currently recruiting for an Interim Finance Director to support a dynamic SME multi-site business as it navigates a sale process. This is a pivotal role for an experienced finance leader with a background in corporate finance, transaction services, M&A, or an established multi-site Finance Director who has successfully led a business through a sale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial due diligence and support the overall sale process.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to drive process improvements and enhance the business's structure to improve valuation multiples.
  • Liaise directly with banks, advisors, and potential acquirers during the beauty parade stage and beyond.
  • Ensure the business is effectively organised and presented to maximise buyer interest and competitive offers.
  • Provide clear financial insights and leadership to facilitate informed strategic decisions.

Key Requirements:

  • A Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in M&A, ideally with end-to-end involvement in a business sale.
  • A strong communicator able to engage confidently with stakeholders including financial institutions and prospective buyers.
  • Proven track record in process improvement and preparing businesses for sale.
  • Availability to start at short notice.
