THE OPPORTUNITY: Macildowie are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor working for a business based in Nuneaton. As Interim Health & Safety Advisor you will be supporting the site leadership team to ensure they remain focused on delivering their Health, Safety and environmental responsibilities! A key support to the site leadership team, you advise and provide direct on risks, ensure legal compliance, and respond swiftly to emergencies-all to keep everyone protected and operations running smoothly. This is a contract role until January 2026 THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide advice, support, and innovative solutions for safety and environmental problem-solving.Provide advise on and ensure implementation of appropriate Health Safety & Environmental procedures.Effective reporting and communication with site leadership team to drive and manage overall compliance and achievement of the site H&S and environment objectives and KPIs.Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting Health & safety, safe working practices, and awareness in the workplace, to promote safety and enhance the Health & Safety culture.To audit, maintain and review, manage, and record appropriate control measures taken in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.Provide relevant training, education, communication, and subject matter expertise to the site and relevant stakeholders.Coordinate incident investigations where required, monitor safety concerns, near misses, accidents, and RIDDOR for the site; ensuring full investigation and recommended actions are taken to prevent future incidentsCarry out site inspections, safety tours, and audits, providing advice and support to line management where corrective actions are required.Manage the Site HSE Dept. functions, and supporting functions, such as the first aid team, H&S Reps, and H&S Committee. Requirements.EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: NEBOSH General Certificate, having the NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH would be extremely advantageous.>5 years Leadership Experience working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, preferably foodExperience with assessments, PUWER, auditing, and culture development.Proven understanding and experience of legal systems, regulatory enforcement processes, and relevant legislation.An understanding and experience of safety/environmental management systems OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001/EMAS.Experience in writing health, safety, and environmental policiesSupporting SOP creation for all shop floor activities, auditing current vs future state, and implementing metrics to charter this.
