A leading distributor of advanced CNC machine tools and automation solutions in the UK and Ireland is seeking to expand its Applications Team (Midlands Area) . With exclusive rights to supply world-class CNC machines, including lathes and machining centres, this company serves a wide variety of industries, such as:

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Applications Engineer to join our growing team. This is a field-based role with responsibility across the Midlands Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive training for customers’ personnel in the safe and competent operation and programming of CNC machine tools.

  • Manage projects professionally, ensuring they are delivered to the agreed engineering specification, on time, and within budget, while maintaining full documentation and traceability.

  • Utilize the company’s Field Service App daily to log completed tasks and highlight any issues arising during customer visits.

  • Continuously develop product knowledge, attending training sessions on new machine models and control systems as needed.

  • Travel extensively across the UK and Ireland, with frequent overnight stays during the working week.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Essential: Siemens programming experience.

  • Essential: Experience with Heidenhain controls.

  • Advantageous: Familiarity with 5-axis machining centres and multi-tasking turning centres, plus knowledge of Fusion 360.

  • A time-served engineer with a minimum of 5 years' hands-on CNC turning and milling applications experience.

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification.

  • Based in the Midlands area.

  • Professional and effective communication skills.
