Butler Rose is recruiting for a Group Accountant to join a successful and growing local business in Bridgwater.
Looking for a commercial minded Accountant with at least 5 years' experience to take full ownership of an in-house finance function. This is a pivotal role, managing financial operations, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting the growth strategy of a fast-expanding business.
What you'll do
- Prepare financial statements, monthly P&L, balance sheets, and year-end accounts.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and oversee VAT returns.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Use Sage (plus industry-specific software) for accurate reporting.
- Manage and develop a team of four finance staff.
- Work directly with shareholders to analyse performance and drive improvements.
What we're looking for
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent) , with 5+ years in accounting.
- Commercial minded
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
- A natural leader with excellent communication skills.
- Able to balance multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
