Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Bristol / Hinkley Point C Site, Somerset
Salary: 75,000+ plus car allowance
Clearance Required: BPSS
Working Pattern: 5-day week / 9-day fortnight

We are seeking a Project Manager (Mechanical) to deliver one of the UK's most important infrastructure projects - Hinkley Point C, the first new nuclear power station in a generation and a cornerstone of the UK's Net Zero strategy.



The Opportunity

As a Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading complex mechanical work packages safely, on time and on budget. The Project Manager will develop strategies, manage schedules, maintain stakeholder engagement, and ensure the highest safety and quality standards. This is an opportunity for a Project Manager to influence strategic workforce planning, work with senior leaders, and play a key role in shaping the UK's future energy supply.



Key Responsibilities for the Project Manager

  • Deliver contract and package activities to time, cost, quality and safety targets.

  • Develop and implement delivery strategies in line with programme execution plans.

  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and milestones, providing clear reporting.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues proactively, and embed knowledge capture.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop teams to exceed expectations.

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including contractors, consultants, and advisors.



About You - Project Manager Profile

  • Qualifications: Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering (degree preferred).

  • Professional: APM PMQ or equivalent Project Management qualification.

  • Experience:

    • Proven track record as a Project Manager delivering complex engineering or construction projects.

    • Knowledge of nuclear or other highly regulated environments desirable.

    • Background in mechanical systems (piped systems, HVAC, drainage, heating & cooling).

    • Understanding of nuclear quality standards, CDM regulations, and safety-critical systems.

  • Strong financial, change, and stakeholder management skills.
