Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Project Manager to work with one of our Housing Association clients in Somerset.

What the job will be doing

  • Managing the full lifecycle of residential property projects, including major works, planned improvements, and health & safety compliance upgrades.
  • Developing project briefs, procurement documents, and specifications in collaboration with asset management and housing teams.
  • Appointing and overseeing external consultants and contractors to deliver works in line with agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Ensuring strong resident engagement throughout project delivery, with a focus on minimal disruption and clear communication.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring compliance with building regulations, CDM 2015, fire safety legislation, and internal policies.
  • Managing project risk, financial reporting, and governance, ensuring all works are aligned with the organisation’s strategic asset management plan.

What you will need

  • Demonstrable experience managing property projects within a housing association, social landlord, or affordable housing context.
  • Solid knowledge of residential property maintenance, refurbishment, and building safety requirements.
  • Experience working with JCT or other contract forms and managing consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent stakeholder and resident communication skills, especially in live/occupied environments.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, with experience handling multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with project reporting tools and asset management systems.

Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Project Management, Construction, Building Surveying, or a related field.
  • Recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) desirable.
  • Membership of CIOB, RICS, or equivalent professional body preferred.
  • Relevant health and safety training (e.g., SMSTS, CDM Awareness, Fire Safety) advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (if required for site travel).
