About the Role

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Paraplanner to join a growing financial planning team in Somerset. This role will suit either an experienced, qualified paraplanner or an ambitious individual currently working towards a recognised paraplanning/financial planning qualification (e.g., Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning).

You will play a vital role in supporting financial advisers in delivering high-quality advice to clients, ensuring all recommendations are compliant, accurate, and tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed suitability reports and recommendation letters based on advisers’ client meetings.
  • Research and analyse financial products, investment strategies, pensions, and protection plans.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant client records in line with FCA regulations.
  • Liaise with product providers to obtain illustrations, valuations, and policy information.
  • Ensure all work is delivered within agreed deadlines and quality standards.
  • Support advisers in the preparation of client review meetings.
  • Keep up to date with market developments, regulatory changes, and new products.
Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Previous paraplanning or financial services experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, and protection products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS) or working towards this qualification.
  • Knowledge of cashflow modelling software and CRM systems.
Qualifications
  • Qualified to Level 4 Diploma standard, or actively working towards this with proven progress.
