Assured Safety Recruitment is partnering with a respected UK manufacturing group to appoint a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager for their high-volume production facility in Somerset. This is an organisation that doesn’t just talk about safety it invests in it, with a strong track record of performance improvements across its UK operations.

As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, you will lead the HSE strategy, supported by a dedicated Health, Safety & Environment Advisor. We’re looking for someone who combines strategic capability with a hands-on approach—someone who can inspire teams, shape behaviours, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a site-specific HSE improvement plan to manage risks and ensure legal compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across all departments
  • Lead internal and external audits to uphold high standards including 14001/45001
  • Oversee emergency preparedness and contractor/visitor safety processes
  • Provide expert HSE guidance to site operations
  • Implement Group SHE systems, initiatives, and campaigns at site level
  • Liaise with regulators and ensure timely statutory reporting
