Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager
Location: Bridgwater (Hybrid - on site 3 days per week)
Rate: Up to 480 per day PAYE / 650 per day Umbrella
Contract: 12-month contract (with potential extension)
About the Role
Are you ready to play a key part in one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure programmes? This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hinkley Point C project as a Senior Commercial Manager, where you'll drive commercial performance and support the safe, cost-effective delivery of a nationally significant nuclear development.
In this role, you'll lead the commercial management of major contracts from pre-award through to execution and closure. You'll work closely with procurement, engineering, finance, delivery and project teams to ensure robust contract administration, effective change management, and strong commercial governance.
Key Responsibilities
Support procurement during contract creation, definition of requirements, review of scope, and negotiation activities
Lead all post-award commercial management, including pricing, variations, contract changes, supplier management and risk mitigation
Monitor contract performance through KPIs, cost reporting and contractor submissions, ensuring alignment with programme objectives
Provide commercial advice on risks, claims, disputes and forecast management
Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with procedures and governance requirements
Lead commercial close-out activities and support continuous improvement
About You
We're looking for a commercially excellent, detail-driven and influential Senior Commercial Manager with:
Strong experience in commercial and contract management within major infrastructure, construction or energy projects
Sound knowledge of commercial processes, performance management, change control and risk management
Confident stakeholder management and the ability to challenge and influence contractors professionally
Degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management or a related field
Chartered status (or working towards it) with RICS or equivalent
Eligibility for UK Security Vetting (typically 3 of the last 5 years residency)
