Role: Temporary Works Supervisor - Hinkley Point C

This is a career-defining opportunity to join one of the most complex and ambitious construction projects in Europe - Hinkley Point C (HPC). As Principal Contractor, the delivery team is seeking an experienced and confident TWS to oversee site-wide Temporary Works and equipment inspections across multiple contractors on a long-term contract.
Principal Accountabilities
As a Temporary Works Supervisor, you'll be the go-to authority for all matters relating to temporary works compliance and equipment oversight across the HPC site. Reporting directly to the Principal Temporary Works Coordinators, you'll play a hands-on role with 75% of your time based on site conducting inspections, ensuring contractor compliance, and addressing issues in real-time.
* Fulfil the duties of a TWS as outlined in BS 5975:2024
* Oversee equipment management across contractors under PUWER 1998, LOLER, and relevant standards
* Carry out inspections and verifications of temporary works and site equipment
* Ensure site execution is in accordance with approved RAMS, design specs and permits
* Collaborate with contractors, TWC/TWS counterparts, and internal engineering teams
* Drive compliance and proactively identify and resolve temporary works issues before escalation
* Maintain thorough records and documentation across all inspections and interactions
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in civil or mechanical engineering within major construction environments
* Demonstrable experience working as a Temporary Works Supervisor for a contractor on-site
* Strong working knowledge of BS 5975:2024 and PUWER 1998
* Familiarity with the inspection and maintenance records required for site equipment
* Comfortable being site-based 75% of the time in a live construction setting
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
* Previous experience on Hinkley Point C or a similar mega infrastructure project
* CITB Temporary Works Supervisor qualification (essential)
* Additional qualifications such as Confined Spaces, CISRS Basic or Advanced Scaffold Inspection are a bonus
* Understanding of Mechanical Contractor-led temporary works
