Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Plant Operator for a state-of-the-art energy-from-waste facility in Bridgwater. This role involves maintaining and operating plant systems, including working in a computer-based control room to monitor and control operations.
Key Duties:
- Perform routine plant tests and checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Collect and record data on plant operations to maintain accurate records.
- Report any non-conformances to the relevant teams and take necessary actions to resolve issues.
- Operate the main boiler and turbine to maintain steam and electricity generation.
- Conduct comprehensive shift handovers.
- Assist in the operation of other plant systems as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an energy or waste management facility.
- Knowledge of plant operations and general maintenance procedures.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Familiarity with computer-based control systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and comfortable working at heights.
