Astute's Nuclear team is exclusively partnered with a specialist lifting and handling equipment business, acting as the lifting principal contractor on Hinkley Point C. We are currently recruiting a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of on-site activities.
The Junior Quantity Surveyor role comes with a salary up to 40,000 dependant on experience and offers the opportunity to be involved in one of the UK's most prestigious nuclear infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities and duties of the Junior Quantity Surveyor role include:
- Producing and maintaining cost reports to support commercial decision-making
- Gathering on-site data to complete lost-time reports and performance tracking
- Liaising with site teams to understand delays, workload, and labour activities
- Assisting with the preparation and assessment of variations and claims
- Supporting commercial compliance across contracts and work packages
- Compiling and analysing information using Excel and internal reporting systems
- Monitoring costs against budgets and highlighting any discrepancies
- Assisting with monthly valuations and commercial documentation
- Contributing to risk, forecasting, and project cost reviews
- Supporting the wider commercial team with ad hoc duties as required
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Confident use of Excel and data reporting tools
- Understanding of cost reporting, budgeting or commercial data
- Awareness of variations, claims or post-contract duties (academic or practical)
- Ability to collect, interpret and present operational or performance data
