Role: Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo)
Location: Somerset (mutli-site role across hour locations)
Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: September 2025

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate SEND professional to step into a strategic and impactful role within a highly specialist SEMH educational setting. We are recruiting on behalf of an independent provision that supports young people aged 8 - 18 with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a rare opening to lead and evolve SEND provision across multiple sites, with the potential to join the Senior Leadership Team. The school offers a therapeutic, relational approach to education in a creative, rural environment - ideal for candidates who are ready to make a genuine difference.
The Role:
As SENDCo, you’ll take a central role in shaping inclusive and person-centred provision across the school community. Working closely with staff, families and professionals, you will:

Oversee the coordination and delivery of high-quality SEND provision

Ensure EHCPs are accurate, personalised and actively embedded in daily practice

Lead Annual Reviews and ensure full compliance with statutory SEND requirements

Offer CPD, advice and coaching to colleagues on inclusive, trauma-informed practice

Manage Access Arrangements and exam support in line with JCQ guidance

Influence whole-school development with a strong, compassionate SEND voice

Proven SEND leadership experience (ideally in SEMH or specialist settings)

In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
