We are currently recruiting aElectrical Engineer for our Energy from Waste client in Bridgwater.

Responsible for the performance and maintenance of all electrical apparatus including High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) and C&I, instrumentation and DCS at the facility. As a technician, the role is to make sure that these systems and processes are maintained to a high standard and assisting the Maintenance Manager and Operations team in ensuring reliability and safety of the plant.

Shifts: Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00
Pay 45,000 pa

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Abide by all company and site safety policies and procedures.
  2. Report all health, safety and environmental concerns, near misses and incidents via the site reporting system.
  3. To maintain, inspect and test all equipment as directed by the Maintenance Manager, and report any defects or incorrect operation.
  1. Assist in co-ordinating Mechanical maintenance activities and assist other disciplines where necessary during planned or unplanned shutdowns.
  2. To work toward the safe and timely repair of failed equipment.
  1. To investigate and rectify Electrical and C&I faults and minimize plant downtime.
  2. To recommend plant spares holdings to the Maintenance Manager.
  1. Assist the Maintenance Manager to manage statutory inspections ensuring all documentation is completed and up to date.
  1. Support the wider maintenance department and site teams as situations dictate.
  2. To ensure that all Electrical and C&I equipment is correctly operated, maintained and tested.
  3. Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule and report any irregularities.
  4. Interact with Operations personnel regarding fault finding, test, modification to process equipment, updating of drawings and carry out defect rectification in line with the defect reporting system.
  5. Liaise with contractors as the need arises.
  6. Assist with stores and stock control.
  7. Setting up service contracts.
  8. Apart from the duties summarised in your job description, the company reserve the right to include other reasonable duties which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work.

Experience for the role:

  1. Extensive operations experience in the power generation sector. This can include Energy from Waste, CCGT, Oil, Coal or Biomass or time served maintenance discipline.
  2. Exposure to working in demanding and dynamic environments, with a proven ability to remain calm and offer consistent leadership.
  3. Knowledge of all relevant facility consents, H&S legislation, safe working environments, safety rules and outages.
  4. C&I advantageous, but not essential.
