Are you looking for your first FD role?I am delighted to now be recruiting a Finance Director position for a highly successful and fast growing, privately owned SME based in North Yorkshire! Established just over 15 years ago the business have experienced consecutive year on year growth and now have over 45 sites across the UK.The Head Offices are based in Bridlington (accessible from Driffield and surrounding areas) where this role will be based 4 days per week, reporting into the CFO and Commercial Director, overseeing a team of 3 direct reports.The position would be ideally suited to someone ACA/ACCA qualified currently in a Financial Controller/Head of Finance role, looking for their first Finance Director role! The role will be focused on managing a developing the finance team, overseeing the finance operations and management accounts, developing robust financial reporting and assisting in the strategic planning and forecasting to drive the business forward.The key duties of the role will include:
  • Overseeing and managing of the finance team (3 direct reports)
  • Provide leadership to the finance team and ensure effective financial accounting & operations
  • Provide expert financial insight into the operations of the business to support colleagues
  • To coordinate financial systems and controls with the care operations and support teams of the business
  • Ensuring timely and reliable monthly management accounts are prepared.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and monitoring of financial performance monthly against budgets.
  • Managing cashflow of the business and ensuring projections flag any positive or negative variances.
  • Reporting to the operating board, flagging up any key areas of concern and opportunities for enhancing profitability.
  • Responsible for management information tracking key performance indicators of the business.
  • Management of production of year-end statutory accounts.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements including VAT and corporation tax compliance, the CIS scheme and current accounting standards.
The successful candidate will:
  • Be a fully qualified accountant – ACA or ACCA ideally
  • Have a proven track record in developing and managing a team
  • Have excellent communication and strong leadership skills
  • Have previous experience of Sage (Desirable)
