Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Smart Education is recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and supportive primary school in the Dudley borough. This setting is seeking a qualified HLTA to complement teaching staff and take responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities, including whole-class PPA cover.
About the RoleThe HLTA will work with a greater level of autonomy, supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will lead planned sessions, deliver intervention work, and provide pastoral and behaviour support to pupils. The role also includes responsibility for a specialist area and the potential line management of support staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesAbility to work across all ages within the primary setting
Provide whole-class cover, including PPA time
Support pupils’ intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development
Behaviour management
Organise learning environments and prepare resources
Use ICT to support teaching and learning
Provide reports and feedback to teachers and senior leaders
HLTA Status (essential)
Experience supporting children in an educational setting
Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
Knowledge of curriculum, behaviour, safeguarding, and SEN practices
Ability to lead groups, support whole classes, and guide other support staff
Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
