Assistant Operations Manager

Are you ready to lead and drive strategic operations in a dynamic port environment? We are looking for an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our team and ensure effective port performance through centralized operations support and on-shift service delivery.

Role Overview: As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will:

  • Lead the strategic delivery of centralized operations support and on-shift service delivery.
  • Align operations and engineering to ensure effective port performance.
  • Support all operational requirements as directed by the Business Unit Manager.
  • Ensure health and safety are at the forefront of all activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all site operations, including vessel discharge, warehouse management, and customer deliveries.
  • Plan staff schedules and manage internal suppliers and third-party suppliers (labour and plant).
  • Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day account management of existing customers.
  • Provide leadership and management through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Proactively lead change throughout the terminal.

What You'll Bring:

  • Previous operational management experience in Marine, Logistics, Warehousing, or similar industries.
  • Confidence in building strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering improved productivity and financial performance initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental, engineering, quality, and ISPS legislation.
  • Proven track record of changing embedded working practices.
  • Individual and team management skills, alongside leadership and change management skills.
