Overview

Are you a Technical professional, looking to further their career with a successful, growing food manufacturer? This is an exciting opportunity, with a lot of variety, for someone with Technical experienceto come in and help grow the ingredient distribution business.

The Role

As Technical Compliance Specialist, you will:

  • Complete and regularly review internal product specifications, including interpretation and updates via customer portals.

  • Maintain and manage accurate records of raw materials and supplier documentation.

  • Respond to customer technical requests by preparing and submitting required documentation and specifications.

  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints effectively, conducting root cause analysis when necessary.

  • Establish and oversee an internal auditing system to ensure compliance with BRCGS Food Safety standards.

  • Manage the issuance and control of customer Certificates of Analysis (C of As).

  • Oversee technical documentation and artwork to ensure legal compliance and accuracy.

  • Produce monthly KPI reports, highlighting key issues, performance metrics, and emerging trends.

  • Maintain site quality standards, ensuring continuous compliance with external certification requirements and audit readiness.

  • Provide proactive support to the wider quality department as needed.

The Candidate

The successful Technical Compliance Specialist will have:

  • Proven experience in managing technical responsibilities, including responding to both internal and external customer enquiries.

  • Strong background in handling product specifications and technical documentation.

  • Experience working to BRCGS Food Safety standards within a UK-based environment, with direct involvement in audit processes.

  • Degree in a food-related discipline (e.g., Food Science, Food Technology, or similar) is preferred.

  • Solid understanding of current UK and EU food legislation.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with external partners.

  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK.
