Conveyancing Assistant – Brighouse | Residential Property 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy residential property team at a reputable legal practice based in Brighouse. This is a full-time, office-based role, ideal for someone with at least 12 months of hands-on conveyancing experience, particularly in residential sales and purchases.

The role is highly client-focused, requiring a professional, friendly and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be supporting fee earners and solicitors with a high-volume caseload and must be confident in handling administrative tasks from file opening through to completion.

This position offers long-term career progression and the chance to further develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening new client files and accurately inputting details into the case management system
  • Preparing initial correspondence, legal documentation, and issuing contracts on sale files
  • Progressing transactions in line with internal procedures
  • Ordering property searches and preparing reports to clients
  • Supporting with exchange of contracts, completions and post-completion work
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries from clients, estate agents and solicitors
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post
  • Assisting with general office administration including filing, billing and archiving

Essential Skills & Attributes:

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in a conveyancing assistant role, particularly in sales and purchase
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Competent IT user with accurate keyboard skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload in a deadline-driven environment
  • Friendly, professional and client-service oriented
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, proactive and willing to take initiative
