About the Role
We are a specialist brickwork contracting company seeking an experienced Hod Carrier to join our team. This is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and wants to work on varied, interesting projects across the Brighton and surrounding areas.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting our bricklayers on residential projects
- Mixing and preparing mortar to specification
- Loading out bricks, blocks, and materials to work areas
- Setting up and maintaining clean, safe work areas
- Assisting with general construction tasks as required (option to learn brick laying skills if desired)
- Working on new builds, extensions, and garden walls
Types of Projects
- New build residential properties
- Home extensions and renovations
- Garden walls and boundary walls
- Work for private homeowners
- Projects for building companies
- Property developer contracts
Note: This role does NOT involve large construction sites - we focus exclusively on smaller-scale residential work.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Hod Carrier or in brickwork support
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking (Monday club will not be tolerated)
- Ability to work as part of a small team
- Pride in producing quality work
- Full right to work in the UK
- No CSCS card required
