An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a dynamic and growing accountancy firm based in Brighton. This is a fantastic opening for someone who thrives in a busy environment and is passionate about delivering top-tier bookkeeping services to a varied client base.Working as part of a friendly and sociable outsourcing team, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting clients with their bookkeeping and VAT requirements.Responsibilities will include:

Performing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using cloud-based software such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and ClearBooks
Preparing management accounts and trial balances, including reconciliations, prepayments, and accruals
Submitting VAT and CIS returns within regulatory deadlines
Acting as a first point of contact for client queries, providing outstanding support and advice
Assisting clients with software and bookkeeping issues
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within set timescales

The Ideal Candidate

Minimum of 5 years' bookkeeping experience (practice background preferred but not essential)
Excellent working knowledge of cloud accounting platforms
Confident in dealing with VAT matters
Superb organisational and time management skills
Friendly, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and client service skills
Strong attention to detail
