Are you an experienced civil engineering Design Engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience working within the water sector? If so, we may just have the right opportunity for you.

We are seeking a Principal Design Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a range of exciting construction projects. You will play a key role in developing both temporary and permanent works designs, including shoring, foundations, and ground stability analyses, for both tender and contract delivery stages.

As part of this role, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and manage external design support. You will also collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and external consultants, building strong relationships to drive successful project outcomes and identify new opportunities.

Key responsibilities include reviewing calculations and technical reports for compliance with relevant standards, ensuring design information is of the highest quality, and promoting the integration of BIM and CDE processes into all projects. You will actively stay updated on the latest advancements in design, digital technology, and new software.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with Chartered status (ICE or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in temporary works design and ground stability analysis.

  • Strong technical competency in structural design, geotechnical works, and BIM.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience managing design teams.

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Revit, Infraworks, and Navisworks.
