The Role - Business Development Executive

Salary

£27,000 with realistic OTE of £70,000-£100,000 depending on performance

This is your chance to launch a high-impact business development and marketing career in higher education marketing. As a Business Development Executive, you’ll generate opportunities for our brand measurement products, working directly with senior marketing leaders at universities in the UK and US.

We’ll set you up for success: the first six months focus on outreach, meetings and building relationships. After that, you’ll take ownership of the full sales cycle, closing deals and driving growth.

This is a role with clear progression and incredibly strong earning potential with the opportunity to travel and be part of a global organisation.

What You’ll Do

  • Research and prospect target universities and key decision-makers
  • Build accurate contact lists and manage outreach via HubSpot, LinkedIn, email, and phone
  • Book and qualify meetings with university marketing leaders
  • Support the Lead Researcher with follow-ups and proposals
  • Progress to full-cycle sales: discovery calls, proposals, and contract negotiation
  • Use cutting-edge AI tools (HubSpot AI, Flowrite, ChatGPT, Apollo) to supercharge your workflow

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in B2B or B2C sales
  • CRM experience (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Self-starter mindset with ownership of targets

Desirable:

  • Experience selling to higher education or marketing teams
  • Familiarity with research, insights or consulting services
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator / Apollo / ZoomInfo knowledge
  • Experience with AI sales tools
