A leading institution in the Southeast is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join it's dynamic and collaborative IT infrastructure team.
?? Key Essentials - Must-Haves
- Deep, hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 (not just as a user)
- Proven expertise with Exchange Online - from configuration to troubleshooting and migrations These two skills are absolutely critical for success in this role.
The Role
In this hands-on role, you'll be a key player in supporting and evolving a complex Microsoft 365 and Exchange environment, helping to shape the IT services used by thousands of users. Working alongside experienced infrastructure professionals, you'll also be involved in patching, server administration, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and broader support across the technology estate.
What You'll Be Doing
- Administering and developing the Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online environment.
- Managing Windows Server infrastructure and Active Directory/Azure AD.
- Implementing and maintaining patch management and backup/DR solutions.
- Supporting ongoing cloud migration from on-premise systems.
- Contributing to the delivery of secure, reliable IT services in line with ITIL practices.
- Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
What We're Looking For:
? Strong experience administering Microsoft 365, Exchange/Exchange Online, and Windows Server
? Solid understanding of Active Directory and Azure AD
? Proven ability to manage backup and disaster recovery systems
? Hands-on knowledge of patching processes and systems
? Familiarity with the ITIL framework and service desk environments
? Experience in the public sector or higher education is desirable, but not essential
? A collaborative mindset, proactive approach, and commitment to best practice
