Specialist SEN Provision
We're looking for a committed SEN Teacher to join a highly regarded special school in Brighton that caters for pupils aged 2-19 with a wide range of needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism spectrum conditions (ASC), and complex medical or sensory needs.
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils through highly personalised, holistic education programmes that go far beyond traditional classroom learning. You'll be part of a dedicated and skilled multidisciplinary team in a nurturing, well-resourced environment that puts the wellbeing and progress of every pupil at the heart of its ethos.
About the Role - SEN Teacher
- Deliver engaging and meaningful lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
- Use a sensory, therapeutic and multi-modal approach to teaching
- Collaborate closely with TAs, therapists, and healthcare professionals
- Support communication using tools such as PECS, Makaton, AAC and sensory strategies
- Foster independence, confidence and personal development for all pupils
- Be a consistent, caring and proactive presence in the classroom
Requirements - SEN Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
- Experience as an SEN Teacher in PMLD, SLD or ASD settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of differentiated curriculum planning and alternative assessment frameworks
- Resilience, empathy, and creativity in high-needs environments
- A team-oriented mindset with a commitment to inclusive education
