MERITUS Talent are working with one of the World's leading aerospace organisations for the recruitment of a Technical Writer to join their team at their Bristol site. The role is for an initial 6 month contact with porbable extensions, paying £45 per hour via Umbrella on a 35 hour working week. It is a hybrid role with 3 days a week onsite on average.

We're looking for a Technical Writer to join a leading aerospace organisation in Bristol. This role focuses on delivering and maintaining technical maintenance documentation to support airlines and operators throughout the lifecycle of their aircraft, with a particular focus on landing gear, wheels, and brakes.

What you'll be doing
  • Create, update, and manage Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and Trouble Shooting Manuals (TSM).

  • Analyse design modifications and engineering inputs to ensure maintenance instructions are always accurate and up to date.

  • Provide technical data support to airlines, including urgent Aircraft on Ground (AOG) cases.

  • Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure documentation is delivered to the required standards, on time and within budget.

  • Lead and participate in regular review meetings with engineering teams.

  • Monitor and improve authoring processes, tools, and compliance with regulations.

  • Contribute to digital initiatives and continuous improvement across technical data functions.

What we're looking for
  • Background in aerospace engineering or aircraft maintenance.

  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance processes, and production procedures.

  • Familiarity with international authoring standards, IT tools, and configuration management.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage workloads, solve problems, and respond quickly to customer queries.

  • Proactive, positive, and open to continuous improvement and digitalisation.
