Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Portbury, Bristol/North Somerset
Remuneration: 17.45 per hour (On target earnings due to travel and overtime 45,000-50,000)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (39 hours + Overtime)

Our client is searching for a motivated, hands-on professional to join their growing team in Portbury, North Somerset.
Responsibilities
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the Depot Foreman and ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standard. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Servicing and maintaining generators both on-site and in the depot
- Fault-finding on control panels and AC/DC electrical systems
- Performing mechanical and electrical repairs
- Joining the out-of-hours on-call rota (including Bank Holidays)
- Communicating directly with customers to ensure excellent service
- Completing essential maintenance paperwork (service sheets, PDI sheets, etc.)
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety procedures
Desired Skills and Experience
We welcome applicants who are already in engineering roles as well as mechanically minded candidates with transferable skills. Ideal applicants will have:
- An NVQ in plant maintenance or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Desired but not essential as all training given)
- Experience in the generator or plant hire industry (advantageous but not essential)
- Strong ability to manage and prioritise workloads
- A full UK driving licence held for at least 3 years
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A forklift licence (training available if needed)
