Location: Bradley Stoke/Winterbourne, BS34
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 per annum
Contract Details: Permanent, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, fully on-site

We are looking for a proactive Quality Engineer to support continuous improvement across our value streams through strong technical expertise, data analysis, and effective use of quality systems. This role plays a vital part in turning quality and operational data into meaningful insight, helping to improve processes, minimise defects, and boost overall performance. You will also be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing inspection technologies while working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve both quality and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

You will take ownership of inspection systems, ensuring they are correctly calibrated, validated, and operating at optimal performance. Working alongside quality and production teams, you'll help embed these systems into manufacturing processes and analyse inspection results to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for defect prevention.

A core element of the role involves collecting, managing, and interpreting data from quality, inspection, and production systems. You will collaborate with value stream teams to assess key performance indicators such as defect levels, cycle times, and process capability, using data-driven insight to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

You'll provide hands-on technical support to value streams, contributing to process optimisation and equipment performance improvements. Working with CI Engineers, Quality Engineers, and production teams, you'll help identify and deliver initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Participation in continuous improvement activities, including Lean and Six Sigma projects, will be a regular part of your role.

In addition, you'll support ongoing improvement efforts by contributing to process mapping, and other CI initiatives. You'll also play a key role in sharing knowledge across teams, delivering training on inspection systems, data tools, and improvement methodologies to help build a strong continuous improvement culture.

Maintaining accurate documentation is essential, including inspection system performance, analysis outputs, and improvement actions. You will ensure compliance with internal procedures and external standards by managing calibration and validation records for quality-critical equipment and systems.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in Engineering, Quality, Science, or a related technical discipline

  • Experience in a quality or manufacturing environment, ideally within an ISO-certified or regulated setting

  • Exposure to vision or camera-based inspection systems is highly desirable

  • Strong working knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D, Pareto)

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence, coach, and engage teams at all levels

  • Comfortable working with SAP or similar ERP/QMS systems for material control and complaints management

  • A continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction
