Quality Engineer Manufacturing

Location: St George, Bristol
Salary: £40,000 £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

A growing and well-established manufacturing business in St George is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join its team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving high quality standards, improving systems, and working cross-functionally to support production and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop the companys ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 quality management systems
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits, ensuring actions are implemented and tracked
  • Manage supplier quality performance and oversee root cause analysis and resolution
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across quality processes and compliance
  • Apply structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, Pareto, and fishbone diagrams
  • Oversee and report on quality KPIs, supporting the wider manufacturing operation

What Were Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, with experience managing QMS and audits
  • Hands-on experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
  • Familiarity with supplier development and non-conformance resolution
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across departments
  • Analytical thinker with a structured approach to root cause investigation and resolution
