The Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible to provide commercial advice and support across the Business Unit on allocated projects, programmes and bids whilst ensuring appropriate commercial governance and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Role - Senior Commercial Manager (DEFENCE)

Location - Bristol (hybrid working C.1 day onsite per week)

Type - Permanent

Salary - Competitive (DOE) + car allowance + benefits

Key responsibilities of the Senior Commercial Manager role and not be limited to:

  • Act as a trusted project/programme/bid advisor on all commercial matters relating to the day-to-day allocated tasking to ensure good commercial governance is appropriately applied.
  • Review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including Terms and Conditions, Frameworks & Subcontracts, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, timelines and end customer requirements and contributing to the management of commercial risk.
  • Lead the re-negotiation of contract changes within an allocated portfolio ensuring commercial requirements and risk are effectively managed.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to the bid process to ensure commercial governance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to maintain a corporate wide consistent approach to commercial positions.
  • Provide commercial advice and support as required to contribute to best practice, commercial process improvement and the embedding of commercial governance within the business unit.
  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of UK MoD contracting polices, procurement regulations and tendering processes.
  • Provide knowledge and understanding on commercial related strategies around aspects such as pricing including owning cost models & partnering to ensure profitable business and competitive offers.

Key skills and experience required Senior Commercial Manager role and not limited to:

  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial management, contract structures, negotiation processes, and a thorough understanding of Defence contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and contractual practices within the aerospace and defence sector and a track record of driving commercial performance.
  • Exceptional customer liaison and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly proficient in delivering clear, confident presentations and communicating effectively at all levels.
  • Eligibility to gain UK Security (SC) clearance
