The RoleAs the Associate Engineer for Flood Risk and Drainage, you’ll lead a small team delivering Flood Risk Assessments, SuDS designs, and flood alleviation schemes from concept to construction. You’ll play a key role in both technical delivery and commercial performance, including the preparation of fee proposals, project management, and mentoring junior staff.

Proficiency in MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, and Flow is essential, while experience with QGIS, river modelling software, and highways/earthworks design would be a bonus.

What’s Required?The ideal candidate for this Associate Engineer role will have:

  • Strong Flood Risk Engineering experience, including experience in a consultancy environment

  • Strong technical background in flood risk assessments and SuDS drainage strategies

  • Experience delivering flood alleviation schemes and knowledge of planning policy and drainage guidance

  • Proficiency with MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, and Flow software

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and working towards or holding CEng (MICE or CIWEM)

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage projects, develop junior team members, and win new business
