Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Bristol

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a respected consultancy delivering large residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across the UK. This is a chance to take on meaningful responsibility, influence technical delivery and contribute to a busy, friendly and well-established civil engineering team.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead the design and coordination of key infrastructure elements on high-profile schemes. You will be involved in highways design, drainage strategies and detailed development infrastructure work while helping support best practice, consistency and efficient delivery across the team. With hybrid and flexible working options from the Bristol office, this position offers strong career progression and continued professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and check the design of highways infrastructure including S38 and S278 approvals.

  • Produce drainage strategies and detailed design for S104 and S98 agreements.

  • Develop SUDS solutions, foul pumping stations and balancing facilities.

  • Ensure all design work aligns with CDM Regulations and UK Building Standards.

  • Coordinate with clients, authorities, architects and multidisciplinary design teams.

  • Provide support to junior engineers and technicians through technical guidance and mentoring.

  • Contribute to project planning, risk management and programme delivery.

About You

  • HNC, HND or degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Strong experience in highways and drainage design for development infrastructure.

  • Skilled user of AutoCAD and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.

  • Chartered or working toward professional qualification.

  • Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating with clients and colleagues.

  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage competing project priorities.
