Job Title: Bridge / Structures Engineer

The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Bridge / Structures Engineer to join their team in Bristol. You'll be involved in the inspection, assessment, design, and asset management of bridges and highway structures, as well as supporting major infrastructure projects where new structures are built and existing ones are adapted.
Key Responsibilities
·Design and deliver maintenance, strengthening, and new structure projects in line with current codes and standards.
·Review developer-led structures and prepare Approval in Principle (AIP) documents.
·Undertake inspections and assessments of highway structures, managing consultants and contractors as required.
·Oversee inspections, replacements, and improvements of road restraint systems.
·Support asset management through cost calculations, lifecycle planning, and depreciation modelling.
·Collaborate with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery.
Requirements
·Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
·Membership of a relevant professional institution.
·Accredited (or working towards) in highway structures inspections (LANTRA or equivalent).
·Health & safety training (confined spaces, working at height, IOSH).
·Knowledge of CDM regulations, DMRB, MCHW, and NEC contracts.
·Experience in design, inspection, and asset management of highway structures.
·Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, TEDDS, Advance Design, and Microsoft Office.
