Civil Design Engineer – Water Sector
Bristol

From £40,000 + car allowance, excellent benefits & flexible working

We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join a well-established Environment division delivering essential water and wastewater projects across the UK. With a strong portfolio of secured work through to 2030 as part of the AMP8 programme, this role offers excellent long-term stability, exposure to technically challenging projects and the opportunity to play a part in shaping sustainable infrastructure for the future.

As a Civil Design Engineer you will contribute to the development and delivery of civil engineering designs across a wide range of clean and waste water schemes. Working closely with Senior and Principal Engineers as well as Design Managers, you will support the production of innovative and practical solutions that move efficiently from design through to construction. This position offers variety and technical depth, with the chance to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and engage directly with live projects on site where required.

We are looking for an engineer with experience in the municipal water or wastewater sector who holds a degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification. You should have a good understanding of civil design for construction, together with experience in hydraulics, reinforced concrete detailing and the design of above and below ground structures. Strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a team environment and an enthusiasm for progressing your career in the water industry will all be essential to your success in this role.

You will be joining a team recognised for its supportive and collaborative approach, where professional development is actively encouraged. The company provides excellent opportunities to progress, with clear routes to more senior engineering positions and long-term prospects to move into leadership or project management roles. Support for professional accreditation, including chartership, is also readily available.

In return you can expect a salary from £40,000, a car allowance, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, life assurance and flexible working arrangements. Hybrid working in place, and there is the option to compress your hours to enjoy every other Friday off.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to major UK water projects and want to develop your career in a team that values collaboration, innovation and technical excellence, we would be delighted to hear from you.
