A leading fire safety engineering consultancy is seeking a Fire Engineer to join their growing and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Fire Engineer who wants to work on diverse, challenging projects and contribute to the development of innovative fire strategies across residential, commercial, heritage, healthcare, and sports sectors.
The consultancy is known for helping architects and developers achieve their design ambitions while maintaining safety, compliance, and cost efficiency. As a Fire Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping fire strategy designs that balance performance, practicality, and creativity. Supported by Chartered Fire Engineers and an experienced technical team, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of projects while developing your skills and progressing towards chartership.

The Role
You'll work across all aspects of fire engineering, from research and technical report writing through to site inspections, computational modelling, and developing detailed fire strategies. Once you have a solid grounding in the fundamentals, you'll have the opportunity to specialise in areas that match your professional interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues at all levels across multiple offices.
- Manage your own projects, including timelines, budgets, and client communication.
- Develop performance-based and code-compliant fire strategy designs.
- Produce clear and accurate technical reports and design documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and attend client meetings where required.
- Keep up to date with developments in fire engineering and legislation.
- Support graduate and junior engineers with their professional development.
- Contribute to research projects and technical publications over time.
About You
- BSc, BEng or higher in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in fire engineering.
- Associate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (AIFireE).
- Experience using Excel Bluebeam or similar software.
