MMP Consultancy is seeking a Fire Works Inspector on behalf of a Local Authority in Bristol. This is a temporary position to start as soon as possible for 3 months on an hourly rate of 33ph via an umbrella company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and managing remedial works arising from Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) reports, working closely with the delivery teams to ensure that all FRA actions are completed effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and delivering FRA remedial works across Housing Delivery dwellings, buildings, and land.
- Preparing design drawings, specifications, schedules of rates, and scopes of work for contracts.
- Carrying out site inspections, surveys, and monitoring works in progress to ensure quality and compliance.
- Advising on forms of building contracts and consultants' agreements.
- Producing reports and presenting findings to boards or committees.
- Managing contractor and in-house team performance to achieve high standards of delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, CDM and Fire Risk Regulatory Order (FRRO) requirements.
- Maintaining accurate project and asset records and supporting effective budgetary control.
- Providing technical consultancy and guidance to colleagues and external partners.
- Communicating effectively with residents, stakeholders, and delivery teams throughout each project.
Requirements:
- A sound understanding of fire safety regulations, building compliance, and construction project management.
- Experience delivering remedial or compliance works within a housing or public sector environment.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, CDM, and relevant building legislation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, monitor, and report on multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in using project management methodologies such as PRINCE2.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel across the city is required.
