A leading defence engineering services business require a Commercial Manager. Applicants need full contract lifecycle commercial management skills and ideally have experience of defence contracting and familiarity with the MOD as a customer.
The Commercial Manager will join a growing and high performing Commercial Management team responsible for developing, negotiating and managing new and existing customer contracts, from cradle-to-grave. Joining this cohort of Commercial Managers based across the UK, you will be required to travel to Bristol 2-3 times perm month.
This role will work on a number of new and existing programmes within the maritime, defence engineering space. Serving as a point of contact for customers, the Commercial Manager will serve as an SME on negotiations and contract management to stakeholders within Bids, Projects and Engineering.
Specific duties of the Commercial Manager include:
- Support bid, new business quotation and tendering activities
- Develop commercial strategies
- Negotiation of commercial T&Cs with new/existing projects (change management, scope creep etc)
- Day-to-Day contract management activities
- Review of commercial contracts, highlighting risk, liabilities and areas to maximise profit
- Manage commercial and contractual risk
- Stakeholder collaboration - Bids, Sales, Projects, Engineering etc
- Support Commercial Contract Management leadership in review of process, procedure, policy etc
Commercial Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience of Commercial Contract Management, within aerospace and defence contracting
- Experience as a Senior Commercial Officer, Contracts Manager, Commercial Manager, or Senior Contracts Officer
- Full contract lifecycle experience from bids, negotiations, contract management and change
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Customer-centric in approach
- Comfort with and willingess to travel to Bristol, 2-3 times per month
