They are looking for an additional Data Mapping Engineer to join their team , 3 days a week in office 2 work from home . You could come from a Mathematics or Computing background as common sense and an attention for detail are key requirements and training will be provided on the job within the team.
The clients business solutions process high volumes of business data that is defined in industry standard formatted messages. These messages may be published in SWIFT international banking standard (ISO15022 and ISO20022) or as documents typically in XML or JSON.
Their solutions uses utility software tools to load and process these incoming messages. The tools require the message format, message syntax and data fields to be mapped from the incoming message to the internal format that can be processed by their business solutions.

Description and responsibilities:
The Data Mapping team has responsibility for the mapping of the different messages used by all the clients solutions. This team will map the data in the messages and build the rules needed to accurately load the messages to their business solutions.
The team will create the data mappings and undertake necessary testing to ensure accuracy. The team will audit and approve the mappings and investigate and resolve unmatched or missing source data.
The team will work independently but in support of all the companies solution teams who are located in their different development centres across the globe.
This is not a software development role but can to lead to a more technical role for a keen and interested candidate.
Key duties and accountabilities of the role will include;
Using a software tool to map data fields from an incoming file to an internal file
Writing scripts or rules to manipulate data fields such as truncating or concatenating data fields to create a new data field value
Reading and understanding specifications of different message types such as SWIFT messages used in the international banking arena
Setting test acceptance criteria and the tests needed to prove the accuracy of the data mapping
Using JIRA to set out the work programme and report progress
Work with developers in different solutions teams
Experience, training and qualification:
BTEC Level 3 Information Technology
BSc (Honours) Computer Science or similar degree with a significant computing bias. A degree is not a mandatory entry requirement.
Hours: Full time Permanent 37.5 hours
