About the Role

Hays Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support primary schools in Bristol. This exciting opportunity involves working in a variety of classroom settings, providing tailored support to students and helping teachers with their day-to-day duties. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and effective learning environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general classroom support and assist with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with students who need additional help, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist with classroom behaviour management, ensuring a calm and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Help with the organisation of classroom materials and activities.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role in a school setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the UK curriculum, particularly in primary education.
  • Experience working with children with SEND (special educational needs) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both children and colleagues.
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, or willingness to apply for one.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
