About the Role
Hays Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support primary schools in Bristol. This exciting opportunity involves working in a variety of classroom settings, providing tailored support to students and helping teachers with their day-to-day duties. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and effective learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general classroom support and assist with lesson planning and preparation.
- Work 1:1 or in small groups with students who need additional help, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Assist with classroom behaviour management, ensuring a calm and productive learning atmosphere.
- Help with the organisation of classroom materials and activities.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.
Requirements
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role in a school setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of the UK curriculum, particularly in primary education.
- Experience working with children with SEND (special educational needs) is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both children and colleagues.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, or willingness to apply for one.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
