Electrical Controls Engineer
Salary 55,000, Keynsham, BS31, 33 days holiday, pension, sick pay, parking, Monday to Friday 37 hour week, potential for flexible start and finish times, Permanent role.

Producing general arrangements, material schedules, detail drawings, panel layouts, PLC, Servo, Robot and HMI code to meet the requirements of the specification. Reports to the lead electrical controls engineer.
The electrical controls engineer role involves
- Producing technical information, designs, BOM, PLC and HMI code
- Associated schedules, documents, ISO requirements, specifications and standards relating to the contract brief
- Testing and commissioning of the electrical and associated mechanical systems
- Deal with specifiers and suppliers
- Resolve problems and provide solutions for deficiencies in the design brief and understanding of relevant technologies
- Maintain competitiveness by ensuring drawings and software is produced within the timeframes indicated and projects are delivered to timescale and budget
- Ensure technical co-ordination with all other internal and external contacts
- Maintain all technical records throughout the duration of the contract
- Visit customers on a world-wide basis, as required, to help achieve sales, support aftermarket, resolve problems, and Install & Commission machines
- Visit companies abroad as required to support aftermarket, resolve problems and test machines
- Ensure statutory and company procedures and practices are maintained
- Work with and support other departments to ensure business objectives are achieved
- Compliance with all current H & S legislation
The electrical controls engineer requirements
- Educated to BSc level or equivalent level
- 5+ years in electrical design,
- Proven experience of using AutoCAD Electrical
- Experienced with PLC based switchgear and control systems, using RS Logix and Siemens
- Strong bias towards the programming & test of servo motion and robotic handling systems
- Working knowledge of CE Marking legislation
- Understanding of continuous improvement techniques
- Knowledge of the packaging machinery sector is of particular interest
- Current driving license and passport, prepared to trave
