Job Summary:
The Estates Officer – Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that the Trust’s buildings and infrastructure are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. This includes managing planned and reactive maintenance, supervising contractors, and supporting compliance with statutory regulations such as fire safety, asbestos, and environmental protection. The role involves project management of capital and minor works, conducting audits and risk assessments, and providing technical leadership within the Estates team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee mechanical maintenance and compliance across Trust properties.
  • Manage contractors and supervise minor works.
  • Support fire safety audits and remedial actions.
  • Conduct condition surveys and analyse performance data.
  • Provide technical advice and lead subordinate staff.
  • Participate in on-call duties and cross-disciplinary projects.

Requirements:

  • HNC/D in Engineering or equivalent (essential).
  • Experience in mechanical engineering within healthcare (essential).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with industry software.
