Are you a detail-oriented and strategic Planning Expert with a passion for electricity transmission? Our client is seeking a talented individual to join their dynamic team, bringing expertise in development, tendering, and construction planning for pivotal electricity transmission projects. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact and drive successful project delivery!

Role: P6 Planner

Duration: 6 Months (extension options)

Location: Bristol/Warwick (Must be prepared to travel when required)

Rate: 400 per day (umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish timelines for high-quality, cost-loaded deliverable programmes that align with the capital plan.
  • Partner with Contracts specialists to evaluate tender returns, ensuring contractors meet their obligations effectively.
  • Own the planning process, including integrated programmes, critical paths, and scenario mapping.
  • Support Project Managers in certifying contractor programmes for compliance with NEC and works information.
  • Ensure rigorous cost loading of programmes in line with WBS structures and enable accurate earned value reporting.
  • Conduct monthly contractor programme analysis, providing valuable insights on run rates, schedule risks, and mitigation opportunities.
  • Maintain a consistent project baseline to measure performance effectively.
  • Conduct impact assessments of change events and validate supply chain progress through site visits.
  • Engage with contractor planning resources for month-end reporting and proactively address exceptions.
  • Continuously seek innovative solutions to enhance processes and establish best practices in planning and control.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in electricity transmission project planning and delivery.
  • Proficient in critical path analysis, total float analysis, and earned value management.
  • Advanced knowledge of P6 or equivalent planning tools.
  • Strong understanding of NEC clauses related to planning and early warnings.
  • Expertise in WBS cost management and cost-loaded programme management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess change impacts and conduct forensic analysis.
