Citadel Source is delighted to be partnering a leading plc to support the search for their new Group Finance Manager.

The role

The Group Finance Manager will play a critical part in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting at Group level, acting as the subject matter expert for all technical accounting queries. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation and consolidation of Group financial statements in line with IFRS and UK GAAP, ensuring a robust and compliant control environment, and driving improvements across technical accounting and reporting processes. The successful individual will work closely with the Group Financial Controller and lead interactions with external auditors, while also partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and a track record of success in a similar role within a complex, fast-paced environment. You will be adept at managing multiple priorities, leading audit processes, and applying accounting standards confidently. The role suits a natural communicator who enjoys working collaboratively and influencing stakeholders, with a hands-on approach to financial delivery and control.

As the Group Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the monthly consolidation of Group results and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reported figures
  • Taking ownership of the financial elements of external reporting including Annual Reports, full-year and half-year announcements
  • Managing the Group’s external audit process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery
  • Developing, maintaining and ensuring consistent application of Group accounting policies and procedures
  • Taking the lead on all technical accounting matters, including preparation of technical papers as required
  • Driving continuous improvement of the Group’s control environment and financial close process
  • Overseeing the production of statutory accounts for the UK legal entity
  • Acting as Finance Business Partner for plc-related costs, as well as Group Finance and Legal teams

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA), preferably obtained within practice
  • At least five years’ experience in finance or accounting, with a minimum of two years in a managerial capacity
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement
