About the Business

A prestigious professional services firm is seeking a highly capable Senior Finance Manager to lead its Financial Reporting team. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, this is a critical role within a collaborative and high-performing finance function. You’ll be responsible for statutory reporting, monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering, ensuring the firm maintains robust financial control and delivers insight to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Financial Reporting team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly management accounts and consolidated financial statements.
  • Oversee the annual audit process, maintaining strong relationships with external auditors.
  • Drive enhancements in financial reporting processes, controls, and systems.
  • Own and improve the firm's cashflow reporting, ensuring monthly reviews and insights are delivered.
  • Lead the annual expenditure budgeting and forecasting cycle, working closely with budget holders.
  • Consolidate and present income and expenditure forecasts to senior stakeholders and boards.
  • Support strategic decisions by providing financial insight and analysis across the firm.
  • Act as a key business partner to non-finance stakeholders, driving financial understanding and performance.
  • Contribute to the development of financial governance and commercial awareness training.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Experience producing consolidated financial statements and managing audits in a complex organisation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK financial reporting standards and management reporting.
  • Commercially minded with excellent business partnering and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel user; knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and Aderant Expert is advantageous.
  • Naturally inquisitive and analytical, with a proactive mindset toward process improvement.
  • Experience within a professional services environment is desirable.
