My client, a major, highly-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for an Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their accomplished team of engineers, based in the diverse city of Bristol.
Essential Criteria:
- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geography, Environmental Management, or other similar discipline
- Demonstrable experience within flood risk and drainage, including with design guidance aligned to the relevant industry standards
- Demonstrable experience of managing projects within the industry
- Experience of stakeholder management across the public and private sectors, with commercial knowledge and awareness
- Good working knowledge of software packages, including MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, QGIS (and other GIS software), etc.
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to possess the following skills and experience:
- Professional Body Chartered Membership (or proactively working to attaining Chartered Status)
- Excellent communication skills when liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Flexible and adaptable, with excellent time management skills

- Undertaking project management across a range of areas, throughout all stages of the process, from inception through to realisation
- Preparation and submission of fee proposals and tenders, drawing upon technical and commercial experience
- Producing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies, and overseeing their completion by other colleagues
- Leading your team in the production of conceptual drainage design (incorporating SuDS techniques), and the creation of relevant drainage plans
- Preparing and reviewing reports, drawings, and calculations
- Presenting Flood Risk Appraisals to clients, providing practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice
- Line managing a diverse team of colleagues, with a commitment to mentoring and encouraging their professional development
