BANK TA – SEN Schools | Thornbury & South Gloucestershire

Flexible Bank Work | Immediate & Ongoing Shifts

As a BANK TA, you’ll be stepping into different SEN settings as needed, sometimes short notice, sometimes pre-booked. You might be supporting a pupil 1:1, helping in a small group, or working alongside class staff. No two days are the same, and that’s exactly why many of our BANK TAs love the role.

The schools you’ll work in support children and young people with autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, sensory differences and behaviours linked to complex needs. A good BANK TA brings patience, curiosity and a calm presence into the classroom. Having access to a car is a big plus, as you’ll be travelling between schools.

We’re looking for a BANK TA who:
  • Is calm, flexible and happy adapting to new environments

  • Has the resilience needed to work as a BANK TA in SEN settings

  • Is interested in learning more about communication, sensory regulation and emotional support

  • Can build trust quickly, a key skill for any BANK TA

  • Works well with teachers, therapists and support staff

  • Stays positive during challenging moments

  • Can adapt learning and offer personalised support as a BANK TA

  • Understands safeguarding and professional boundaries

  • Enjoys the freedom and variety that comes with being a BANK TA
